From: To: Subject: Re: Monday Meeting Date: Monday, September 16, 2002 1:38 AM Just a quick recap of Friday for those that weren't there. We basically took both rocket chambers apart and examined everything. -measured the burn diameters on the fuel grains -identified problem areas on the fuel casings(seemed like some flow occured where the casing was cut -took pictures of disassembly and the blown injector plate -some ideas floating around included having larger flanges for next chamber so easier access to bolts -also thought about going with a 6-inch inner diameter chamber, that way cardboard tube doesn't have to be cut, reducing the # of flow paths -chamber could be manufactured from aluminium, since fuel won't burn all the way to surface. -injector will have bolt holes outside of chamber diameter, so no gas can leak through bolts, only injector holes exposed to precombustor -maybe experimenting with different fuel grain geometry(star, multiple holes) to increase surface area for combustion -LOX/NOX issue still needs to be researched -almost everyone has keys to new room, still working to get access to network files -just keep reading Sutton and SPAD, and research online I think this was most of the topics. If I missed something, send it out. See you all tomorrow at 11. Otto Quoting Erica Raine : > Hope everyone had a good weekend. I believe we are going to meet Monday > at > 11 am in the ITLL.
